# REALIZATION OF JOHNSON COUNTER

OBJECTIVE: –

A) To design 4-bit Johnson counter using JK flip-flop.

B) Verify the functionality by referring Johnson its function table.

THEORY: – A twisted ring counter or Johnson counter connects the complement of the output of the last shift register to its input and circulates a stream of ones followed by zeros around the ring.

COMPONENTS USED: –

EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE: –

1. Do the connections as per the logic diagram using the JK flip-flop(IC-7476) shown below.
2. Connect PR to PRESET and CR to CLEAR and clock to the clock terminal.
3. one of the registers must be preloaded with one or zero to operate properly.
4. Switch on the power supply of the kit.
5. Provide clock to the counter manually by pressing the clock switch and observe the data on LEDs.
